Earlier this year we were given a HUGE gift.
It was an unexpected gift.
The kind of gift that knocks your socks off & makes you cry.
Steve was laid off.
Now
you may be wondering, how the heck was THAT a gift?!?! I must say
that at first I didn't see it as a gift. I was angry. I cried. I felt
upset that my amazing Steve had been let go. He is one who gives his
all to those he works with. He is kind, thoughtful, passionate, and goes above and beyond to help develop
people and business, yet he was let go.
Within a few
weeks of the layoff notice, we were notified of a severance package and what benefits would
stay & go. That is when the fear set in. Thank you higher power that all medical remained the
same, and thank god for amazing friends who listened to us as we processed our emotions.
Now, I sit here in our messy kitchen, in my bathrobe. Hair wild and crazy,
sleep in my eyes, with my half-filled coffee mug... and today, the feeling I
have is not one of fear (ok, maybe I have a teeny bit) but it is more of
excitement & gratitude.
For this gift is no longer the gift of being laid off, but it is the gift of TIME. And this time is the springboard to our next adventure.
And that brings us back to why we started a blog named "OUR HOME IS WHERE WE PARK IT".
Our new adventure is that we (all four of us and the dogs) are taking a couple of months to adventure in our motorhome around the Southwestern United States. And home really will be "where we park it"!
♡ Here's to the start of a new adventure!
