It's official!
Here she is... 31 feet of ADVENTURE!
Thank you Steve for going to pick her up!
Thank you Steve for going to pick her up!
Such a shift from pulling a trailer, and so much easier to drive!

And, good news! Alex is really responding well to me as his teacher. He is taking 'Mom School' seriously and I'm really enjoying having him with me. As you know, he is super talkative and has a lot to share. Today, we started out the school day with silent reading time. I think it really helped to center him. We then headed into town to pick out some books for our research... learning about National Parks and the states we will visit.
Working on math facts. Daily practice is a must!
And Sierra wanted to get in on the action too.
When she saw Alex working on his writing,
she asked for "school" too.
I purchased materials for her as well...
She is a super fast with numbers!

This afternoon was beautiful... sunny and warm. The kids played out in the sandbox and up at the playground for a while. I left the front door open & watched them as I started to sort through all things Steve pulled out of the old trailer. I am now making piles of things to give away & am washing all the blankets and bedding so they're all fresh and clean for the new adventure.
Piles all around... top of the piano is for donations (blankets will go to the dog shelter in town) & the couch is all the clean laundry from this week. I totally fell behind when we came up with this travel plan.
For me, this weekend is all about getting things back in order at home. I am the kind of person that needs my house to be in order for my brain to fully function. And that is why I have invested in new storage containers for the motorhome. This time around, the kids will be using sleeping bags on their bunks. I'm looking for easy set up and easy take down. And we will have new sheets for our bed... yee haw! It really is the little things in life that bring me joy. Plus, everyone will have homes for clothes, toys, books, etc. I found these neat drawers for the kids at Target ... go clearance area! The drawers are soft canvas feel in a plastic frame. Plan is to keep these, side by side, in the shower while we travel.
And, here is a random funny from yesterday. Following dinner and pick up, I made my 'time to get clean' request to the kids. Next thing I know, Alex was asking me how to spell the word 'reserved'. A few minutes later, when I went into our bathroom to turn on the water for Sierra, this sign was hanging on the wall...
Alex hung the sign to let his sister know which side of the shower he was using. Hilarious! He wanted the regular shower head and told Sierra she had to use the rain shower. So funny! ♡
