I'm not sure if you'll be able to see in the picture below, but south of Tucson, we passed at least a couple hundred locomotive engines along a railroad. They were all parked end to end along a railroad track in the distance. It was wild to see!
And, our drive today was only a little over two hours... Our destination was Kartchner Caverns State Park. Tomorrow, we have a cave tour scheduled and I will report back on all we learned and saw. We don't know much about this area yet, but heard it's an awesome place to see. So far, it's beautiful. And, it's cool tonight with a nice wind blowing. After being in hot weather, I welcome being able to put on a sweatshirt and pants for a night.
Steve spotted a guy on a motorcycle as we stopped to ask the Camp Host about leaving Tman and Willow in the rig tomorrow while we tour the cave. The biker left North Carolina eight days ago on a 1983 Honda Goldwing 1200. One day, Steve wants us to do a trip on dual sport bikes. Before having Alex, I rode a 650GS and loved exploring with him. I sold my bike when I became pregnant and have yet to replace it. Steve still rides with friends from time to time & dreams of our future trip.
The campground here smells a bit smoky. I'm trying to figure out if someone is smoking a cigar, having a campfire, or if the desert brush and trees are giving off the scent. Either way, it smells good to me!
Sunset was purples and pinks
And, I am thankful for Chef Steve.
He brilliantly made that pot roast on Thursday
& we had it for dinner tonight.
So quick and easy to have it all pre-made for a travel day. Thank you Andrea for encouraging us to buy the InstantPot.
Sooooooooooooooo good!
And, finally, the dogs were super chill this weekend.
I think they are ready for some quiet time tonight.
Rest up pups, tomorrow is a hiking day! 💙
